The Fort is over 130 years old and has areas that may present uneven surfaces. We recommend that if you are unsteady on your feet, that you make use of the handrails found throughout the site.

Areas inside of the Fort may not be wheelchair/pram friendly, a Staff Guide can advise of area access.


Photography is permitted in most areas of Fort Scratchley.


Food, Drinks (Water only allowed) and “Selfie” sticks are not permitted in the tunnel complex.




The Fort is open 6 days a week, (closed Tuesday) from 10am to 4pm.

Admission and self guided tours (excluding tunnels) of the Fort is free.
